Brittany from the Matt Adams Foundation was sent to represent MAF at the National Safety Council’s 2019’s Survivor Advocate workshop which brings together leaders who’ve turned personal tragedy into action and change across our country.

The last three days have been a whirlwind! I was so excited to have been invited to Chicago for the National Safety Council’s Survivor Advocates workshop hosted by the wonderful and amazing Katherine van den Bogert.

I was able to meet people from all corners of the United States, all with different stories and one common goal – to bring awareness and advocate for their causes. The causes ranged from Opioid Awareness, Traffic Safety, Fatigue, Parents being alert of children in the car to avoid leaving them locked in… every single person had a story. Every single person is fighting for a better world.

I met people I will keep in touch with and help grow awareness for their causes for life. I can’t wait to take what I’ve learned and implement it into NW Arkansas to start making a bigger impact for the people we stand up for and serve. Thank you National Safety Council for this amazing opportunity.
